The Building
The Middle Street Synagogue in Brighton, constructed in 1874, is on of the UK’s oldest synagogues and is listed by English Heritage as the town’s second most important historical site, after the famous pavilion.

Stained Glass and Decorations
The Sassoon family, a wealthy Jewish dynasty with links to Brighton and Hove, funded various expansions and improvements one Middle Street Synagogue had opened, especially in respect of the internal fittings, which are very elaborate for a synagogue.
